  • actually insulting comments in the form of questions? Seriously, is anyone here to get anything answered, or just to air grievances. Is there a "things I hate about your religion" section for all the
anti-religious and atheist to post on?

  • Well, people of all faiths or lack thereof do it, but basically it's just "Here's what I think, but I'm pretending it's a question." And, yeah, a lot of times it is insulting.

  • This is their dog bone time to chew... seriously

I take it for a little while and then have to walk away..

  • i love it. i have the same disagreement. yahoo should have someone that that deletes all these BAD questions.

these people are an eye sore and i have always wondered if R&S has the most questions and answers. but there are rules.

  • So true. They should do it. Makes it hard to answer sometimes when you aren't sure if they are serious or not. I know it has wasted my time answering but if one person can be helped it's worth it.

  • I don't know why people bother to answer some of the questions. When I do answer one, it's usually not for the benefit of the person asking the question because his mind is already made up, but somebody might be reading answers that really wants to know.

  • I guess you don't believe in free speech do you??

  • Why do so many atheists spend so much time worried about something they say doesn't exists?

  • Every once in a while a real question come along. All isn't lost!

The religious post atheist questions too. It goes both ways.

  • There is a big difference between well thought out, reasoned answers
and the rote bible quotations that are frequently dished out here.

Many of the comments I see posted are there to get people to
get their heads out of the sand and think for themselves.

Many of us are not anti religious but we don't like dogma
and cannot accept ancient superstitions at face value.
The old time religion doesn't seem to work for everybody.
New ways of looking at old ideas are helpful to people
who might otherwise give up altogether.

  • A lot of the religious folk ask the questions about us my dear :).

  • Seriously there are groups that login to just slander and insult the religions and spirituality

We need a strict watchman to take care of these groups and inform the authorities to take action.

    PEACE

  • I try and give real answers and ask questions to make people think. But you are right most don't want to think outside their comfort zone and just want to try and insult and bash others.

Lets get some interesting theological discussions going and avoid ignorant insults.

  • Im very insulted by your question.

By the way, i suggested making an Atheist section, but people rejected it on the grounds that "We wont make a section for the sole purpose of discussing nothing."

So, no. R&S is what we've got.

  • "Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions. Ideas must be distinct before reason can act upon them....."
-- Thomas Jefferson, letter to Francis Adrian Van der Kemp July 30, 1816.

  • Many here do not seem witty and so what they say comes out as sarcasm. So now you know why they say, sacarsm is the lowest form of wit.

  • Good question! I completely agree, although I think it's ironic that your own question was actually an insulting comment in itself. :]

  • This is the first time I've been in this section on Yahoo!Answers, and your question makes me wonder why people who don't have a religion want to be in the religious section. Don't you? Maybe they need to insult others humble faith in order to feel confident in their belief in themselves and nothingness.

  • Don't ask me. Whenever I post a question, I try to make it sound as unbiased as possible. I get haters from both sides.

    I am Christian:>

  • someone asked the same thing yesterday - it breaks my heart to hear of a religious type feeling persecuted!
