Since your LT1 is Fuel injected, you can't use anything too radical. You would have to switch to a carburetor if you wanted to use a radical cam- but I would not recommend it. The fuel injection on the LT1 Camaro is excellent, and has a lot of low end torque, which is what you want for take off and low end performance.
You have a lot of brands to choose from:
Lunati
Comp
Crane
Edelbrock
SLP
and others. I would go with a cam that is a small one, with a very slightly lopy idle or a non-noticeable idle. You will want to have a lot of low end torque, and high end horsepower. Also, have the cam degreed properly, and have all new push rods, springs, lifters, etc. installed with the cam. It's better to use all the same name brand parts...for example, if you decide to use a Competition cam, also use competition lifters, comp springs, comp hardened pushrods, and maybe a high quality double roller timing chain. You will also need the engine computer reprogrammed for the specifications of the cam- it will maximize performance. Good luck man!
for very long, your valves will float and the stock valve springs will break and you will have to drive around at breakneck speeds with those kind of rpm's. You want a low end to mid range cam for performance, this will allow you to get off the line and have good acceleration through the mid range. 0 to 60 is how the game is played unless you want only to go to the Drags on Sunday. Remember that even though you put in a nice cam, the engine will not perform if it can not breathe. Therefore it will need an intake, Carb, headers, exhaust system, good valve springs and lifters to mention just a few of your needs. Good luck!
