Subscriptions/E-mail Notifications Per Forum?

  • Excuse my ignorance if an option such as this is easy to find, but so far I have not had much luck. Is there a way (without modification) to have a certain forum automatically subscribe a user to its thread, when the new user creates one?

    To clarify, I have a thread on my forum that deals with applications. The application threads are made by the users of the forum, however, I would like it so that as soon as the users' threads are made, they are automatically set up to receive e-mail notifications from their particular thread. I don't want this process to apply to the website as a whole, merely this particular forum and thread. Is this possible?

  • Normally you would use this user preference:

    User CP -> Edit Options -> Default Thread Subscription Mode

    But that applies to all forums. There is no way to limit this to one forum without modifying the code which is a www.vbulletin.org question. I think the .org site also has an addon for forced email notifications which might be of use.
