  • My teacher says its micro tears in your muscles, but the book says it's lactic acid. So which is it?

  • They're both correct.
Lactic acid buildup accounts for soreness lasting around a day or so.
Most textbooks don't specify any length of time that the soreness lasts due to lactic acid. Recent research indicates that persistent soreness is due to small tears in muscle fibers. Congrats to your teacher for keeping up with recent findings.

  • its lactic acid

  • i think its lactic acid.lactic acid is produced when anaerobic respiration is carried out.the oxygen in your body is not enough when you exercise.anaerobic respiration is carried out and lactic acid is one of the product that causes the pain.
