  • I want to get a Tattoo and i am carrying about 20 kilos extra weight.. i want a tatto on my lower back that is fairly detailed.. (its grug the cartoon).. if i get a tattoo and lose weight will it go all yucky.. im 18 in june

  • NO, IT WILL NOT IF IT IS ON YOUR UPPER BACK BUT MAY ON YOUR LOWER. THE ONLY PLACE IT WILL GET YUCKY IS ON YOUR TUMMY OR SOMEWHERE WHERE YOU MAY TEND TO GROW BIG AND THEN SMALL AGAIN, LIKE IN A PREGNANCY, YOUR TUMMY EXPANDS, BUT YOUR UPPER BACK SHOULD NOT BE AFFECTED. TRY TO LOSE THE WEIGHT FIRST, AND THEN THINK OF WHETHER YOU STILL WANT IT OR NOT.

  • If your planning on losing weight why not lose weight first and then get the tattoo as a treat for all the hard work you've done. If your not planning on losing weight then you don't have a problem.

  • If you are worried, I would lose the weight first. I know one girl who was overweight and got a tattoo on her stomach. When they were giving her the tattoo, they pulled the skin taught. It looks really awful. :/

  • It probably will get distorted if you loose weight later on. I have one on my lower back, and I'm expecting it to change throughout my life.

  • I have a tattoo on my lower back and I got pregnant afterI got it. I goes with your skin While I was pregnant it looked the same as it did before and after. Mine is very low though it is not the typical upper lower back where people normally get them done. It is literally right at the end of my tail bone. So you may want to (as others said) wait or get it very low.

  • On your lower back, it's likely. Somewhere like your shoulder would be less likely to get all wacked out.
I'm 17 as well and planning on getting a swallow on my calf, so I'm hoping that won't change much over the years.
Good luck! Make sure you go to a good artist with a clean shop!

  • yes. because your skin is stretched and when you lose weight it shrinks, so it will lose its detail and shape

  • it all depends, where, size, quality, if its on an extremly fatty place and you lose yes it will change but if its smaller and in a less fatty place it wont be that noticable and also the quality of it, its like resizing a picture and you can see the pixels, the more holes that were made the better its going to look beacause it wont be so very different on the diffeent places
    hope i helped

  • I would have to say you will definitely regret it. Would try to lose the weight first. And who knows with the new body you may not want even want to cover it up with a tattoo or you may need to cover up stretch marks It would be best to wait all around!
