  • Does anyone know why Common Law goes with Christianity?

You may ask what's with all these theologies, physics, theosophy, laws? I tell you this; If you learn everything about the faith, then you become closer to God. That way you know the history, the theologies, theosophy, laws and everything. Then You are ready to be defenders of the faith; because You know everything about it.

Christianity isn't a myth religion, it's true historical faith. The rising of Jesus is a true historical event, all the miracles are a historical events. I've seen where he was actually born, i've seen his house, the sea he walked on, the place were he was killed and buried. Yes the tomb is still empty. There is a big Catholic Church on the spot where the cross and tomb is.

  • Amen dude!!!!!
    :D
    God bless!

  • What does any of that have to do with "common law"? A belief in a god or goddess is a personal issue, not a law issue.

  • Common Law has nothing to do with any religion. It is a legal term that refers to Law developed by decisions of Judges by Precident, rather than by Legislative action. It is unconstitutional in the U.S., but still done anyway. A good example of Common Law in the U.S. is Supreme Court Decisions that were reached by methods other than the U.S.Constitution, such as International Law, etc... A recent case allowed a Real Estate developer in Ct. to take someones house away from the owner, simply because his development would raise more taxes. This is prohibited by the Constitution, but the ruling stood anyway, and the Judges are still on the bench. Justice Ginsberg explained her vote by saying that "the US needs to be more 'in-line' with International and European Law",.... clearly a violation of the oath Supreme Court judges swear to upon accepting the office, but Congress let it go, and so did 'We, the People'. We get what we ask for. Our apathy is costing us dearly........

  • This is the ignorance. ;)

True historical faith? Truth and faith DO not mix.

  • I reject "common law" 100%, and will never follow it.

    I follow only Jesus.

  • I'm not sure what Common Law has to do with Christianity, other than it's basis/origins in Hebrew culture.

But the rest of your argument, while short on more than just your own personal conjectures, does have merit. Without the history, it couldn't be such a major religion or force. It would have died out very early...

  • Actually, common law has hardly anything to do with Christianity.

Common law, is natural law, or laws based on old-time court decisions and precedents.
It's the laws of each culture that are not written down, just followed because of tradition and customs of the area.

There are many other types of law include statutory law, and canon law.
Statutory laws are passed by a legislative body, and canon laws is "of the church", most often Biblical, or decided by a Pope or other high church leader.

So, church laws, or bibilical codes would be more related to Christianity, than common law.
Most of modern USA laws are base on English Common Law, which in turn goes back to Roman and Pagan Laws.

Again, these were decided long before Christianity established control over most of Europe.

Read your history, and you will discover that statutory laws are necessary when people forget their statutory, and cutomary rules of good behavior, and common sense.

If nothing else, read the link below, so you know the real origins of common law.

  • Uh, Oh.

It looks like you broke yahoo...

  • I could sell you a bridge he walked across for real cheap if you'd like...

  • You could go to the monument in Key West, FL, that says the southernmost spot in the Continental US, but if you look at a map you can easily see that it's not really at the southernmost point.

  • Common law originally developed under the inquisitorial system in England during the 12th and 13th centuries,as the collective judicial decisions that were based in tradition, custom and precedent. Such forms of legal institutions and culture bear resemblance to those which existed historically in societies where precedent and custom have at times played a substantial role in the legal process, including Germanic law,and particularly Islamic law.
The form of reasoning used in common law is known as casuistry or case-based reasoning. The common law, as applied in civil cases (as distinct from criminal cases), was devised as a means of compensating someone for wrongful acts known as torts, including both intentional torts and torts caused by negligence, and as developing the body of law recognizing and regulating contracts. The type of procedure practiced in common law courts is known as the adversarial system; this is also a development of the common law.

  • Good post.....God bless

    I follow Jesus.

  • Common Law has nothing to do with Christianity, only the law of the testements and the Bibleis right, God is our Father, Bless him always.

  • You participate in literal Sun worship. Idolatry. Jesus is the story of the suns path through the zodiac.

  • Common Law started in a Christian nation and so they relied heavily on the bible.

What is with the unnecessary comments? I want to answer questions not be preached.

  • Bragging much?

  • Very simple. The basis for Common Law is the Mosaic Law. There are actually three different laws practiced in the U.S Common Law, Equity Law and Maritime Law. Woe to you if you don't know the difference, especially if you every have to go to court. Remember that only God's Law provides justice and only the Common Law is based on God's Law.

  • Because it's all mass control.

  • Jesus is nothing more than a character in a fairy tale.
